HEBRON, Ohio (WCMH) — Two people died Wednesday in a head-on crash in Licking County.

It happened around 4 p.m. along U.S. 40 near Gale Road SW, according to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office later identified the victims as 27-year-old Justin A. Crawford, of Pataskala, and 33-year-old Timothy N. Moore, of Reynoldsburg.

Investigators say both Crawford and Moore were the only occupants of their respective vehicles at the time of the crash. One of the vehicles crossed the center line, hitting the other head-on.

National Road was closed for several hours while emergency personnel responded. The road has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation by the Licking County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Deputies.
