Runners brighten up downtown Columbus at Color Run

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Hundreds of people running through Columbus on Saturday did not leave with clean shirts.

The Color Run is a fun day for families and friends because the whole theme is to have fun and bring people together. Participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer along the 5K course.
The Petrella Family came together to be silly and dress up and not be stressed for the timing of the race, just focusing on a family fun day.

“We did explain the colors we’re going to have our oldest get out at every color station and have him run through and then the baby, his favorite are bubbles, so he’s going to get out for the foam bubbles,” said mom Alaina Petrella

The race ended with a huge “Bubble Zone” with two giant unicorns that kids of all ages enjoyed.

The Color Run started in 2011 and has spread to more than 35 countries.
