Ross County confirms human case of West Nile Virus

ROSS CO., OH (WCMH) — The Ross County Health District says a case of human West Nile Virus has been confirmed, the first in the county for 2018.

The individual lives in Chillicothe, according to the health district. 

Last year, 34 human West Nile Virus cases were reported by the Ohio Department of Health, including 5 deaths. 

The Ohio Department of Health says this year’s West Nile Virus activity in mosquitoes is the highest the state has seen this early in the season since 2012, the Ross County Health District said in a press release.
