Reynoldsburg police arrest suspect for murder of man found dead Wednesday

REYNOLDSBURG (WCMH) — Reynoldsburg police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in connection with another man’s death.

According to Reynoldsburg police, officers responded to a home on the 7700 block of Pembrook Drive in Reynoldsburg on a well-being check around 12:36pm Wednesday. Officers found the body of a male, identified as 46-year-old David A. Vollette, inside the home.

Reynoldsburg police developed a lead on a suspect with the assistance of DNA evidence, according to a press release. Police executed a search warrant with the help of Columbus SWAT on Friday at approximately 8:15pm and arrested 51-year-old Joel Smalls. He was arrested and charged with murder.
