Reward offered for arrest of person who lit firecracker in cat’s rectum

MANSFIELD, OH (WCMH) – The Humane Society of Richland County is offering a reward for the arrest of the person or persons responsible for setting off a firecracker in the rectum of a cat.

The humane society posted a picture of the cat Monday afternoon.

We are currently at the vet’s office with this cat that had a firecracker set off in her rectum. We have no words. We need all your good thoughts and vibes for her. We aren’t sure if she will make it, it depends on the extent of the damage.

The cat, named Katy P, had surgery at Phillips Animal Hospital. Veterinarians aren’t sure if she will be incontinent or unable to defecate.

The Humane Society of Richland County is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
