COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A power outage on the east side of Columbus is affecting the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center East Hospital.
According to a spokesperson, the hospital has activated its emergency plan and is working to understand the extent of the station.
The hospital is currently running on backup power.
The emergency room is diverting ambulances to other hospitals. All afternoon elective surgeries and procedures were canceled Tuesday. Outpatient appointments in the hospital tower were also canceled.
The hospital says it is in the process of having power fully restored. The ER will remain on divert status Friday. Elective surgeries and procedures have been canceled Friday.
Friday’s outpatient appointments have not been canceled.
