PORTSMOUTH, OH (WCMH) — The Portsmouth Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the possible suspect of an alleged sexual assault at a Kroger.

Police say the alleged assault happened at 12pm Saturday at the Kroger at 811 Gay Street. A customer approached a Kroger employee and said her juvenile daughter had been touched inappropriately by an unknown male.

Employees located the male and followed him, but he left in a tan-colored Ford minivan. He was accompanied by an older white female.

Investigators recovered surveillance video showing the suspect entering the female restroom several times with no one inside. Video also allegedly shows the suspect pacing the hallway where the restrooms are located, and entering the female restroom once a female juvenile had gone inside.

Police say separate reports were taken at the scene involving two juvenile female victims with similar complaints of improper touching by the same suspect.

Police say the suspect is a white male that was wearing what appears to be grey jogging pants and a blue short sleeve shirt.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Steve Brewer at 740-354-1600 or 740-353-4101.
