Portions of I-71, I-670 now open after crews treat icy roads

Local News

Authorities have re-opened portions of the interstate that were shut down earlier today due to an increased number of accidents caused by the fog and icy road conditions.

I-71 northbound at I-670 and I-670 eastbound at Neil Avenue were closed at about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Officials told NBC4 that those sections of the highway had been re-opened to motorists before 10 a.m.

Officials say these sections of the highway will remain closed until salt trucks can treat the roads and they become safe for motorists.
