The second Senatorial debate between U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and Congressman Jim Renacci was held Saturday night at the WOSU studios, hosted by NBC4.

Two local political science professors were not impressed by the performance by either men.

Dr. La Trice Washington from Otterbein University and Dr. Brianna Mack from Ohio Wesleyan University watched the debate from the NBC4 studios. They said it was politics as usual and no one came out on top.

“I would have hoped after the first debate they would have taken notes and gotten a sense that certain behaviors and just drudging up dirt would not be effective for a debate,” said Washington.

Mack said the debate gives her hope for the next election cycle. She encourages voters to make their voices heard now, and after November.

“I’m going to expect more, I am going to demand more from my elected official because right now based on what I see this is not it so I’m going to actually start demanding more from them,” said Mack.
