Police: Two south side banks robbed by same suspect

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police in Columbus say two south side banks were robbed by the same person Wednesday afternoon.

The first robbery happened around 12:55pm at the Chase Bank at 833 South High Street. Police say the man approached the counter and passed a threatening note demanding money. The man then demanded the clerk hurry. Police say he became impatient and left without any money.

At 1:12pm, police say the same man entered the PNC Bank at 2060 Lockbourne Road. He again passed a note demanding money.

Police said this time he also threatened to shoot up the bank.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen driving west on Marion Road in a light colored Nissan four-door.
