Police: One dead, one critically injured in south Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police say one person has died and another is in critical condition following a shooting on the south side of Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 6:55pm, Tuesday, officers were called to the 1000 block of Lockbourne Road on the report of a shooting. 

When officers arrived on scene they found Mark Tyshawn-Dominique Hardy, 27, and Charles William Allen Jr., 31, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to Grant Medical Center where Hardy would later die from his injuries. Allen remains in critical condition. 

Police say Hardy and Allen were together outside with other people at the above location when a fight occurred, resulting in the shooting. 

According to police, drugs may have been a precipitating factor in the fight that led to the shooting.
