Police: Man shot in northeast Columbus dies

Columbus Police say one man is dead after a shooting in northeast Columbus.

Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Brentnell Boulevard around 7:23pm Wednesday on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Mohamed N. Abdi, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound behind an apartment building.

Abdi was transported in critical condition to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:39pm.

This is the 83rd homicide in Columbus this year.
