Police: Man killed in shooting east of downtown Columbus

Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting east of downtown Columbus. 

According to dispatchers with the Columbus Division of Police, officers were dispatched to the area of Mount Vernon Avenue and North 18th Street around 5:45pm on the report of a shooting.

Responding officers located a man who had been shot. Initial investigation shows that he may have been shot near the 300 block of Seemic Circle. He drove away and crashed into a parked vehicle and a brick wall. 

Investigators say that he was pronounced dead by Columbus Fire medics at 5:54pm.

The identity of the man has not been released at this time. 

Columbus Police say there are no suspects or motives.
