Police looking for man accused of touching women’s hair in Central Ohio Target stores

Local News

Multiple women say what a man is doing to them inside retail stores may sound strange, but it’s frightening to them.

Multiple police departments are also looking for the man including Columbus, Hilliard and Dublin, as well as Muncie Indiana.

The women say the man is approaching them, mostly in Target stores, and rubbing his hands through their hair and on their faces. The women say it lasts several, uncomfortable minutes.

The Hilliard Police Department released surveillance video from inside the Target store on Trueman Boulevard where a woman tells NBC4 a man approached her while appearing to be on a phone call with his mom, then asked for directions to a different store. The woman says after she explained, the man then claimed she had something in her hair. Before she had a chance to reach up herself she said the man reached into her hair and began rubbing his fingers around her head, ear, face and chin.

Another woman says the man approached her in the Ulta Beauty at 161 and Sawmill and did the same thing.

Neither wanted to be identified for fear of their own safety.

The woman who says she encountered the man at Ulta explained what happened next.

“Before I had a chance to brush it out myself he had his hands all in my hair with 1 hand holding my neck in place, or my head in place with the other hand combing through my entire head of hair, feeling my ear, rubbing his hands on my forehead brushing hair out of my eyes and rubbing my chin,” she said.

Another woman also filed a police report after she said the same thing happened to her at the Target on Sawmill Road.

You are asked to contact police if you’ve encountered a similar incident.
