Police investigating fatal shooting in north Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A 33-year-old man is dead after he was shot during an argument early Wednesday morning with another man at a home in north Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 6:25 am, Wednesday, officers were called to the 1367 Pershing Drive on the report of a shooting and discovered Jeremy Huff inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police.

Huff was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The suspect, 34-year-old Robert Michael Bowling, who remained at scene and called 911, was taken to police headquarters for questioning. Bowling was charged with murder, police said.

The two men are related through the suspect’s marriage. The victim was staying at this residence.

This is the 32nd homicide of 2019.
