Police identify woman killed by train in Delaware

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — Police in Delaware are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a train.

According to a release by the city of Delaware, police were called to the railroad crossing at Pennsylvania Avenue and Troy Road at about 8:46pm, Monday, on the report of a person hit by a train. 

When officers arrived they found a train stopped and 26-year-old Brooke D. VanCooney dead at the scene. 

Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to VanCooney being on the tracks.
