Police asking for tips after man left unconscious in road, $6K bike stolen

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) - Police are asking for help identifying the person responsible for stealing a man’s bicycle and leaving him lying unconscious on a south Columbus road.

According to Police, officers were dispatched to the area of South 5th Street and E. Barthman Avenue around 8:39pm on May 28 on the report of an unconscious male lying in the street. When officers arrived, they found a 60-year-old man in the roadway. Police say it was unclear if the man had been beaten or struck by a vehicle.

The man’s black Cervelo bike was taken from him. The estimated value of the bike is $6,000.
