HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WCMH) – Police say a woman put her girlfriend’s dog in a microwave after getting upset about the Philadelphia Eagles’ Sunday night loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Kirsten Gaskins, 31, was arrested on domestic assault and animal cruelty charges Sunday, WFMZ reported.

Police said Gaskins was drinking and watching the Eagles and the New Orleans Saints at a Best Western hotel when she got upset about the game. The victim said she was hit by Gaskins several times. She also said Gaskins threatened to kill her dog and put it in the microwave.

After Gaskins was taken into custody, police checked the hotel room’s microwave and found a white Pomeranian dog inside. Police said the microwave was not turned on and the dog was unharmed, the Morning Call reported.

Gaskins denied the allegations in a phone call to NBC Philadelphia. She denied the dog was ever put in the microwave and said the incident had nothing to do with the game.

She was released on a $20,000 bond.
