Pole fire causes large power outage in northeast Columbus

More than 4,000 AEP Ohio customers are without power in northeast Columbus.

The outage started around 7:45pm and is affecting 4,343 customers in the Maize-Morse, Woodward Park, Forest Park West, Forest Park East, Minerva Park and Northern Woods neighborhoods. According to a spokesperson with AEP Ohio, the outage was caused by a pole fire.

Crews are currently working to repair the damaged pole. AEP Ohio said power should be restored by 1am Tuesday.
