COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Franklin Township Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a scene where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on West Broad Street on Friday evening.

The incident happened around 8:22 p.m. in the 3000 block of W. Broad St, near a gas station. Franklin Township Fire stated the person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after they arrived. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stated that a vehicle maneuvered around a COTA bus while it was stopped at a bus stop at the intersection of W. Broad St. and Broadlawn Ave. It was then the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the roadway at the time. Police also said the driver did not stay on scene.
