COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead following a report of a pedestrian struck along West Broad Street in Columbus.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 8:11pm, Monday, officers were called to the area of W. Broad Street and I-70 on the report of a pedestrian struck.
Police say a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander was traveling eastbound on W. Broad Street when it struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian would later be pronounced dead at Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
Police identified the victim as 54-year-old Phyllis Jackson-Lowe.
According to police, the reason Jackson-Lowe was in the roadway is unknown at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
