The Jewish observance of Passover began this weekend with the traditional Seder meal, which commemorates religious freedom by celebrating the Biblical exodus from Egypt.

The Jewish holiday began Friday evening at sundown around the world and continues for eight days through next Saturday evening.

Some Jewish families in central Ohio will celebrate a second Seder Saturday evening.

The Passover holiday tells the story of the liberation of ancient Israelites from slavery and reflects on the importance of supporting religious freedom in today’s world.
