COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A 36-year-old man is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck on Phillipi Road.

Billy Miller, of Hilliard, was killed in a crash in the 500 block of Phillipi Road, at about 7:22am, Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.

The crash occurred when a semi-tractor towing a semi-trailer was turning left into a private drive onto Phillipi Road and was struck by a 2004 GMC Yukon that was traveling northbound.

The semi is owned by B.E. Trucking of Chicago, Illinois. The Yukon had two occupants. The passenger, Miranda Nibert, 30, of Mansfield, was transported to Grant Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Firefighters say when they arrived on the scene, they found the SUV trapped under a semi-truck. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
