One dead after shooting in north Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say one person has died after a shooting in north Columbus Thursday.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of Shanley Drive around 11 p.m. for reports of a person shot.

On scene, Tejuan Jerome Hammons, 40, was located suffering from a gun shot wound. Hammons was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where doctors pronounced him dead at 11:44 p.m.

According to police, due to the circumstances of the investigation, the suspect’s identity is not being released at this time.
