One person dead after shooting in north Columbus, suspect in custody

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Police say one man is dead, and another has been arrested after a shooting during an argument over a crash in a north Columbus parking lot.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 7:29 p.m., Thursday officers were called to the 1600 bock of Harvester Lane on the report of a shooting.  

When officers arrived on scene, police found Prince Asare, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound.  

Asare was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he later died from his injuries.  

Police say Asare and Dennis Mensah, 29, were arguing about a motor vehicle crash that had occurred in the parking lot in the area, when Mensah pulled a gun and shot Asare.

Mensah remained on scene after the shooting and surrendered to officers, according to police. Mensah was arrested and has been charged with murder.
