One person has died after a multi-car accident in New Albany

NEW ALBANY (WCMH)—One person has died after a multi-car accident and jackknifed semi-truck shut down a major road in New Albany.

According to officials, SR 161 is closed Friday morning, Dec. 21, while crews clean up a five-car accident after a semi-truck jackknifed this morning.

According to the radio room, one person has died. No word on other injuries at this time. 

Crews ask drivers to use E. Dublin Granville Rd. as a detour.

No word when the area will reopen.
