One man killed in Lancaster house fire

Local News

LANCASTER, OH (WCMH) – An early morning house fire has left one man dead.

The fire broke out around 2:52am Saturday at a home on the 600 block of McKinley Avenue West in Lancaster. A neighbor called 911 after hearing an explosion.

According to officials with the Lancaster Fire Department, one man, identified as Carl Fauble, 64, died in the fire. The fire chief said two other people were able to make it out of the home without injury.

Lancaster Fire Department David Ward said firefighters did not hear any smoke detectors when they entered the home.

“We did not hear any smoke detectors, and with a small house like that, we would’ve hoped to have heard that,” Ward said. “I think there were no working smoke detectors.”

No further information was immediately available.
