One man in custody after barricading himself in home in Whitehall

WHITEHALL (WCMH)—One man was taken into custody after a standoff situation with Whitehall police.

According to Deputy Chief Tracy Sharpless with the Whitehall Police Department, they received a disturbance call around 6:15pm Sunday, November 11, 2018.

On their way to the scene, police learned the man had felony warrants. When they arrived at the home, the man was alone and barricaded himself in the basement.

Police did have to deploy a type of gas and were able to get the guy out of the home.

No injuries were reported.
