One killed in Linden neighborhood shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead following a shooting in the Linden area of Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 10:38pm, Tuesday, officers were called to the rear of Club Déjà Vu in the 900 block of Hudson Street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Stephen Tyrone Augustine, 49, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Augustine was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Police say several people were standing in the lot behind the club when the fatal shot was fired from the alley, a considerable distance away. 

According to police, it is unclear if Augustine was the shooter’s intended victim. 

There is no known motive for the shooting at this time, and no known suspects.
