One injured after shooting in east Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A man was taken to a local hospital Wednesday night after a shooting on Columbus’ east side.

According to Columbus Police, the shooting took place at approximately 7:47 p.m. in the area of Miller Avenue and Whittier Street.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

According to police, the victim said he was walking down the street when a black vehicle approached him. One of the passengers in the vehicle began asking him questions and when he said he didn’t have anything, one of the passengers fired two gunshots, hitting the victim twice.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time.

This was the first of two shootings on Columbus’ east side Wednesday night. According to police, officers were dispatched just after 9 p.m. for a shooting in the area of 1900 East Livingston Avenue. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
