Man injured following accidental shooting on Columbus’ east side

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A man was shot in the abdomen Sunday afternoon in what police are saying appears to be an accidental shooting.

According to Columbus Police, the man, 19, was taken to Mt. Carmel East Hospital at approximately 2:50 p.m. in critical condition. His condition was later upgraded to stable.

Police said the victim was inside a home on the 1700 block of Elaine Road with two other people when he was shot by a 15-year-old boy.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
