One hospitalized after shooting in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is in stable condition following reports of a shooting on Columbus’ northeast side Saturday.

According to Columbus Police, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue at approximately 7 p.m.

According to police, the suspect drove up to the victims, Lavaughn Perdue, 37, and Leisaan Belcher, 33, and after a verbal confrontation, fired at both.

Perdue was shot in the upper body. He was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

Police said the suspect is a black male who was driving a gray pick-up truck at the time of the shooting.
