One dead, one injured in Franklin Co. motorcycle crash

One person has died and a second was critically injured after a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in southwest Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the area of Bausch Road and Bradshaw Avenue around 8pm.

According to deputies, a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Bausch Road when it traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch. 

The driver, Jeremiah Brooks, 41, and his passenger, Samantha Brooks, 32, his wife, were ejected from the motorcycle. 

Jeremiah Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Samantha Brooks was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. 

Deputies say neither were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation.
