One person is dead following an industrial accident in southwest Columbus.
Firefighters and EMS crews were dispatched to a business on Feddern Road late Friday night on the report of a cardiac arrest. According to Fire Deputy Chief Jack Reall, the man was approximately 45 years old.
Battalion Chief Steve Martin said the man working climbed into a tank and may have had a heart attack or was overcome by fumes. He was not wearing some or all of his protective gear.
Firefighters were unable to revive him.
The fire department is calling the incident an industrial accident, but it remains under investigation.
