One dead after shooting in southeast Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead following a shooting Tuesday night in southeast Columbus.

It happened around 10:42pm at a home on the 2800 block of Shilling Drive.

One person, now identified as 26-year-old De Angelo Marquis Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police and medics found him critically wounded inside his vehicle.

Police say there may be two possible suspects, both described as black males.

Police believe the victim may have met the suspects before being robbed and shot. After he was shot, Smith tried to flee the scene but only made it a short way before crashing into a tree.
