COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say a man has died after a shooting in south Linden on Thursday.

Officers arrived to the scene around 1:34pm and found the victim, a 25-year-old man, laying on the sidewalk at the corner of Brooks Ave. and Indigo Way with several gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center and pronounced dead at 1:55pm.

Police say the victim and suspect apparently knew each other, and had exited a vehicle described as a light-colored SUV, possibly a Kia. Police say the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect, a black male wearing a dark shirt and shorts, fled northeast after the shooting.
