COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Two people are dead following two separate shootings Saturday night.

According to Columbus Police, the first shooting happened at approximately 9:33 p.m. on the 4600 block of Glen Grove Lane.

When police arrived, they found 24-year old Terrance Jewell suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say Jewell and his girlfriend had stepped out of an apartment when a black SUV approached them, started shooting, then sped away.

Jewell was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m.

The second shooting happened just minutes later at 9:35 p.m. on the 1400 block of Oakland Park Avenue.

According to police, a woman, 20, was meeting with a man, also 20, in the parking lot of a carryout. The two were in the woman’s car when a third man, who police said was 24 years old, approached the vehicle, pointing a gun at the couple.

The man with the gun was driving away in the woman’s car when he allegedly pointed a gun at the woman for a second time. Police said the woman, who had a handgun of her own, shot the man, who then crashed the woman’s car across Oakland Park Avenue.

The man was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead at 10:09 p.m.

Police have not released the identities of any of the people involved in the Oakland Park Avenue shooting.
