FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, OH (WCMH) – A Columbus man is facing several felony charges after investigators say he broke into several storage units and led deputies on a chase.

It started around 5:44am Thursday at Car-Go Self Storage at 1421 Harrisburg Pike. Franklin Township officers and Franklin County deputies were sent to investigate a burglary in progress call.

As deputies approached, the suspects fled the area in a Honda CRV. The vehicle crashed in the area of Forest Creek Drive in Columbus.

One of the suspects, identified as 28-year-old Daryl Leon Thompson, forced his way into a nearby apartment, according to investigators. Pursuing deputies found him hiding in the apartment. He was arrested without incident.

Thompson was charged with breaking and entering, felony fleeing and aggravated burglary. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance Friday.

The Sheriff’s office is still actively looking for at least three other suspects. No description of those suspects was provided.
