ATHENS, OH (WCMH) — Ohio University has issued a crime alert after a report of a rape on campus early Sunday morning.

According to the alert, the female victim was walking with acquaintances near Grosvenor Street around 10:30pm Saturday. She told police the acquaintances forced her into a vehicle.

She was driven to her residence hall room, where she was raped.

Police described the suspect as a white male standing between six feet and 6’5″. He had a muscular build, dark hair and dark eyes.

This is the second rape reported on campus in the last two weeks. According to police, a woman reported she was walking from Mill Street towards Crawford Hall late on August 25 when a man came out of a residence hall, pulled her inside and raped her. The suspect, in that case, was described as a tall male with blonde hair.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Ohio University police at 740-593-1911.
