COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Republicans in the Ohio House of Representatives are expected to elect a new Speaker of the House in May.

This comes after former House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger suddenly resigned his seat two weeks ago amid talk of an FBI investigation into his activities.

Rep. Kirk Schuring has been presiding as Ohio’s Speaker of the House.

That vote will take place on May 15, but the full House chamber will not vote until they are in session the next day.
