Ohio Avenue argument leads to the shooting of three men

An argument between two men on Tuesday evening was cut short when a another man ended it by shooting them both; then shot a third man as well, before leaving the scene.

Columbus police say that on Tuesday, October 2 at approximately 7pm, Eric Winters, 25, and Javaughn Wilson, 26, were engaged in a verbal argument in the intersection of S. Ohio Avenue and Reinhard Avenue. 

Police say that in the course of this argument, a third man, identified by the victims only by the street name “Ant”, produced a handgun and began firing numerous shots, striking Eric Winters in the leg, Javaughn Watson in the face, and another man, Charles Winters, 31, in the leg.

According to police reports, Eric and Charles Winters were transported to a local area hospital in stable condition. Watson was driven by a third party to a separate local area hospital and is in stable condition. 

Investigators say that the suspect fled the area after the shooting.
