PIKE CO., OH (WCMH) — The man shot and killed by Franklin County SWAT officers in Pike County has been identified.

Pike Co. Prosecutor Rob Junk told NBC4 a suspect shot and killed by the Franklin County SWAT Team Wednesday was David Arthur, 44.

A second man who lives at the home was also found dead there. His name and cause of death have not been released.

Junk told NBC4 that Arthur was wanted out of Scioto County on several charges. Deputies got a tip he was at a home in the 900 block of Wynn Road in Pike County.

Two deputies approached, but something prompted them to back away from the home. Junk said they got a search warrant and called Franklin County to assist.

Junk said that within a few hours, Arthur began firing through a window at the SWAT team, which returned fire and killed him.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Franklin County investigators are handling the investigation.

Pike Co. Sheriff Charles Reader said no deputies were injured.

No further details have been released.
