COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Officer Zachary Rosen has received his new assignment, after his recent reinstatement.
An arbitrator reinstated Officer Rosen after he was fired for kicking or stomping the head of a suspect who was on the ground in April of 2017.
According to a Columbus police spokeswoman, Rosen has been reassigned to Zone 2, which covers the southern and eastern parts of the city. A Dept. of Public Safety spokeswoman says he is part of the Strategic Response Bureau, working as a zone investigator.
According to the Fraternal Order of Police, a zone investigator handles investigations into misdemeanor crimes such as car break-ins and thefts.
After Rosen’s reinstatement, fliers appeared in his old patrol district, zone 4, warning residents of his return.
Rosen was one of two officers involved in the 2016 shooting death of Henry Green. A grand jury declined to charge the officers in the incident.
