Northeast Columbus crash leaves one woman dead

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) - Columbus Police are investigating after a woman was killed in two-vehicle crash in northeast Columbus early Saturday.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Morse Road and Cleveland Avenue around 3:23am Saturday on the report of a crash. According to Columbus Police, Christina Marshall was driving a Dodge Caravan east on Morse Road just before the intersection with Cleveland Avenue when a Saturn SI, operated by Heather Tapia, attempted to turn left from the westbound lanes of Morse Road to the southbound lanes of Cleveland Avenue.

Marshall’s van struck the Saturn, and the Saturn came to rest on the southwest side of the intersection. An unidentified woman who was in the front passenger seat of the Saturn was injured in the crash. She was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition where she was later pronounced dead.

This is the 46th traffic-related fatality in Columbus this year. The crash remains under investigation.
