NEWARK, Ohio (WCMH) — Six teenagers were arrested Tuesday morning after a car chase that began in north Columbus and ended in Newark, according to Columbus police and the Licking County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Columbus police, a pursuit began on Karl Road and SR-161 at around 10:30 a.m. before concluding on Burt Avenue.
The incident began after the suspects were involved in an accident involving a stolen vehicle on Karl Road. A witness to the accident told police that he confronted the teens when one of them fired a gun at them.
No one was shot in the incident, Columbus police said.
Officers then began pursuing the suspects, who they said are between 12 and 16-years-old.
The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspects fled from the vehicle they were in and ran before they were arrested and transported back to Franklin County.
Police recovered two stolen KIA’s in the incident.
The suspects are facing felony assault and felony fleeing charges, Columbus police said.
