NEWARK, OH (WCMH) — Newark police say two people had to be flown to area hospitals after being stabbed Tuesday night.

According to the Newark Division of Police, at about 10:10pm, April 2, officers were made aware of a stabbing victim, identified as Damron L. Higley, 26, of Newark, at Licking Memorial Hospital.

A short time later, a second stabbing victim, Jerry R. Wolfe, 50, also of Newark, was located in the area of W. Main Street and N. 28th Street.

Higley was flown to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and Wolfe was flown to Mount Carmel East. Their conditions were not released.

Police say they were able to link the two victims to the same incident and were able to determine they did not stab each other.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to call the Newark Division of Police.
