Edgar Merritt will earn $110,000 plus benefits in his position as the new Director of Recreation and Parks, according to information from the Hilliard Mayor’s office.

Merritt comes over from the same position at the Village of Obetz where he served for 20 years. He has a MA in Public Administration from the University of Dayton.

The appointment is the fruit of a comprehensive, multi-state search, according to a press release from Mayor Schonhardt.

Merritt replaces Steve Mazer, former Recreation and Parks Director, and begins his new position on Sept. 4th with an annual salary of $110,000, plus benefits, said the Mayor’s office.
