COLUMBUS (WCMH) — All summer long, NBC4 will be holding its second “Stuff the Backpack” campaign to help local students be prepared to learn at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.

This year the station’s backpack drive will expand from 1 district to benefit both Franklin and Licking counties across 25 school districts.

NBC4 is partnering with PrimaryOne Health and CME Federal Credit Union to launch the campaign on Monday, May 20 with a CALL4 phonebank fundraiser. Viewers can call 614-821-4444 to make a secure monetary donation. Phone lines will be open between 5am and noon, then again from 4pm until 7:30pm.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, 94% of public school teachers spend hundreds of dollars for school supplies, without being reimbursed. Our “Stuff the Backpack” campaign is aimed to lift some of that burden.

To make a secure credit card donation go to Nbc4i.com/backpack.

All donations are tax deductible and 100% of donations are given to local students and teachers.  This is made possible through NBC4’s Stuff The Backpack fiscal sponsor, The United Way of Central Ohio.
