‘Movers for Moms’ aims to make Mother’s Day special for women in shelters

Local News

This weekend, a moving company in northeast Columbus is doing their part to help mothers in need.

On Saturday, Two Men and a Truck’s “Movers for Moms” collected hundreds of items for the YWCA Family Center in downtown Columbus as part of its national charity campaign. The company hosts the donation drive every year just before Mother’s Day.

Volunteers collected infant care items, women’s hygiene products, clothing and much more, all for a good cause.

“There’s a lot of times that we take things for granted, like everyday items like this,” said Steve Barton, general manager of Two Men and a Truck’s Westerville Road location. “We don’t know what those battered women have gone through.”

Two Men and a Truck’s Westerville Road location will continue to collect donations throughout the week. They will deliver the items to the YWCA on Friday.
