COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A group of motorcyclists rode around to 10 Columbus high schools over the weekend to pray for a safe, productive and positive year.
The group from the New Salem Ministry started their ride at the Board of Education building where interim Superintendent Dr. John Stafford joined them.
“We hope that this will be a good year for all of the kids coming in in 2018,” said Renita Smith with New Salem Ministry. “We did this last year, and it was a success. No one got hurt in 2017.”
“We want to be ready for success this school year,” said Dr. Stafford. “We want to make sure everyone, our bus drivers, our food service people, our teachers have a positive attitude every day and they share that positive attitude with their students.”
The 2018-2019 academic year begins Thursday for most students.
